4Liberty Network is a small, independent outlet. We don’t have the staff of a wire service, and we don’t try to sound like one. Most of what we publish is opinion, not straight news reporting, and we’d rather be upfront about that than pretend otherwise.
What we publish
When Austin Petersen breaks down a story on Wake Up America Show, or writes about one, he’s telling you what he thinks about it. That’s true of most bylines on this site: our Politics and Culture coverage is commentary and analysis first.
We do run some straight news, mainly short factual items in News and Jeff City News. Those stories stick to what happened, sourced and checked, without the writer’s opinion mixed in. Everything else on the site is opinion, analysis, or commentary, and it’s labeled that way wherever it runs.
Where we’re coming from
4Liberty Network isn’t neutral, and we’re not going to pretend we are. The network takes a liberty-minded, right-of-center view of politics and culture, and that point of view runs through our commentary. What we owe you isn’t the appearance of neutrality. It’s honesty about where we stand, and about the facts underneath our arguments.
Getting the facts right
An opinion piece can be wrong about what it thinks should happen. It shouldn’t be wrong about what actually happened. Facts, quotes, numbers, and events we cite come from primary documents, on-the-record statements, or direct reporting, and we say where we got them. When we’re relying on another outlet’s reporting, we say so and link to it. We don’t publish anonymous claims we can’t independently stand behind, and we don’t treat a single unverified source as confirmation of a fact.
Corrections
Mistakes happen, and when they do we fix them and say so. See our Corrections Policy for how that works.
AI assistance
We use AI tools to help with research, copyediting, and technical publishing work, the same way we’d use spellcheck or a content management system. AI does not write our commentary, generate quotes, or publish under a byline unsupervised. Every piece that runs under a writer’s name has been reviewed and approved by that writer before it goes live.
